Please explain how God does what he does, without formally existing?

How did God come about? Was he born? Created? Just *Pop* "Here I Am"?

Isn't "Just Believing" called blind faith? (Not understanding what you believe in, but you because everyone else does?)

Did God write the bible? If the answer is: No people have over time, then can't that be combated with, can it be trusted anymore than a textbook explaining the universe?

Consider it a temporary placeholder for the Scientific Method.

"gods" were created by people but the Eternal Creator God is the un-caused first cause of everything in this universe. Think about it. Can "nothing" produce "something"? Nothing means that there isn't anything at all and by definition an absence cannot do anything but be defined. Everything that we can see had an origin, but to say that matter has "just always been here" doesn't explain how it came to be here. It's just a cop out and is really saying "I don't have an explanation for anything being here so I'm going to guess and say that maybe it's just always been here and we don't know why".

But the God of the Bible claims that He exists outside of time and space and that He created all 4 dimensions and everything that is in them. You can agree or disagree with that explanation but at least it answers the question of how the universe came into existence. A "big bang" still needs material and energy to go "bang" with and it sounds to me like another way of saying that the Universe just leaped into existence as is described in the Bible.

Hebrews 11:3 By faith we understand that time itself was framed by a command of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.

Did God "write" the Bible? No, He didn't do the physical task of putting pen to scrolls but He supernaturally revealed truth to humanity and moved people to write down what He had revealed to them.

Scientist and philosophers would like to teach mankind today, that everything that happens today is simply
"just because". The mere fact that throughout centuries man has been looking to a source greater then them, shows that their is in truth a God. You ever heard the saying " Where there is smoke, there is fire"? The problem is many people don't know God or tend to define him according to their standards which is imperfect. But then at the same time, humans misuse the word "God" to excuse much of what they do and why they do it. The personalities which some people give God Almighty has been created, but it is possible to find out about the True God and His explanation for things. Read the bible and use it as your guide.

Well, you definitely could make a case for that. I think that for what ever reason, there are still people who need this belief as a foundation, to protect them from truths that might be to hard to come to terms with.
After all, they in a sense cheat death! Most believe in some sort of an afterlife..so in a sense, the concept of a true death does not exist for them....regardless of what the truth may be.
So, it serves a purpose....it also answers for them the purpose of life....since they believe that there life is part of a higher cause...a design of some Deity.
This too is a plus, as it offers a need for them to live an succeed. These, I believe are positives....regardless of the truth.
Why should it matter if they believe in a GOD...so long as if makes there life more full filled.
The problem is when religion gets manipulated politically to control the masses in such a way that it is a risk to human life...many deaths have been attributed to religion...in the name of GOD.
Trying to disprove god makes no sense...it is not productive, as you cannot prove or disprove the concept. As with Carl Sagan's Dragon in the Garage scenario...you can always add some new element to make you gods existence a possibility.

I do smile at people who quote the bible as proof though...I think I can pick any book from the shelf and make it a gospel..it still does not make it so, just because it is written on paper...(Sorry, its just my opinon)

God is not created. He has always been.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. John 1:1-5

Almost too big a concept to challenge this early in the morning. What I really want to know is was the cheese burger created to explain what the club sandwich couldn't?

No, God was also created to explain what people CAN explain, but that they can't explain to dumb people. And more and more, it is to this end that God is being used. Presumably it is better to be wrong than to have no idea whatsoever.

In a way that's why people started believing, but God also gives people hope and somebody to turn to. I believe in God and I don't think I will stop. Maybe it's just the way I'm raised. I'm not sure, but I do believe in him because of the bible stories.

God was not "created". He has been present since the start of time and before .

God was not "created", He always existed, although our finite minds cannot comprehend that. That's where faith comes in. Just believe.
