Can a Christian marry someone who has had premarital sex with other people earlier in their life?

Keep in mind one very important part to what you are asking: men, in biblical days, sometimes visited prostitutes while the women were fully expected to remain "pure" so as to gain a large dowry for the family. This was very common.

Today, it is common for people to have sex prior to marriage. Now, the question you might ask yourself is this -- does this guy have any communicable diseases?

There is nothing in the Bible that would say that God frowns upon that union, but if you truly have prayed and know in your heart (not your mind) that he's the one, then go for it!

Love rules. Forgive him his past and make a wonderful future together!

I am a Christian who had premarital sex. God will forgive us of ALL sins. Now if this Christian is a virgin then there could be complications but that would happen regardless of your Christianity.

Pray about it is the best advise on here.

If the answer is no Christians are going to be at a serious breeding disadvantage. Which could lead to their extinction as a species. An interesting test of the theory of evolution.

If God wanted us to be miserable because we did things we regret now, he wouldn't have made such a point about forgiving us, would he? The Bible tells us that he wants us to live life and live it more abundantly. He wants us to love and be loved, to have peace, joy, and true happiness. That doesn't sound like we should punish ourselves because we did something we don't think we should have done! I say, God would want you to get married and get on with the more abundant life! Go for it and know that God loves you more than you can get your mind around.

Well, don't Christians have that "Born Again Virgin" ritual? Where they send you to an Abstinence class, dress you up in a diaphanous baptismal gown, dunk you in water like some Southern Baptist wet T-Shirt contest, and magically declare you to be a Virgin? Jesus is amazing. He can make you a Virgin again, cure your homosexuality, and make you repent of your sins and change your party affiliation to Republican! Praise Jesus!

Your question proves my whole point about christianity being a negative thought process all the way around. It is one big mind game that makes otherwise normal people obsessed with imaginary situations that make them nervous, narcotic, and down right miserable...oh but if they believe in jebus they will be saved...give me a break...Sex is normal and natural and is so fun to enjoy GOD gave you sexual organs and a mind to enjoy it is part of it the joy in life married or not....stop worrying about premartial sex and start having the best sex of your life!

If he or she called themselves Christians at the time, I would find it hard to believe them in the future. if they came to Christ after and have been sex free since then, I would say all is cool.
God doesn't hold things against you (past) how can you if the person has gotten saved and lived their live for Christ since?

Jesus said everyone is a sinner. so presumeably that means at some point in your life you have sinned. do you think this guy you want to marry should not marry you because you have sinned in the past?
