OK, three houses have to have three paths from their house to each of the three wells. their paths can't cross. i'm always stuck with one house crossing a path to get to the third well. there is no picture, but that britannica site has a close picture.

Put House 1 to the West of House 2
Put House 3 to the East of House 2
Locate Borehole 1 to the North Of House 2
Locate Borehole 3 to the South Of House 2
Then, to satisfy your conditions, Borehole 2 cannot be anywhere else except INSIDE House 2

then go to well housey thingy!
