I have 2 cats and 2 litter boxes in my place...

The one cat pees and everything is fine. the other cat pees and it just turns the litter dark. So when i go to scoop it up nothing happens.

Any clue as to why my one cat's pee doesn't clump. Same diet, same litter?

Is one litter fresher than the other? That makes a big difference. I'd change out the litter from both boxes at the same time and see if that doesn't help. Sometimes it's hard to tell which pee spot is from one cat, so maybe you should isolate them in different rooms with fresh litter boxes and see what happens. If you're still concerned, by all means call the vet.

Every now and then, I find the same. I think it tends to happen at the edge of the litter tray where a bit of the wee may get onto the side of the tray and this keeps the urine on the litter moist too. It may need a little longer to soak in because it's near the side of the tray. But either way, I really wouldn't worry about it. It's a bit of a pain because it makes the litter scoop a bit messy when you pick it up but aside from that, no prob.

It's got nothing to do with the content of the wee, or your cat's health - it's a litter thing.
Best Wishes.

It's generally not the cats pee that clumps it but the material in the litter box.. What sort of litter do you use?? We mostly get the clay type and that clumps instantly into a big gluggy mess.. It could be that one cat is peeing more than the other or the one that doesn't clump scratches the pee clump and breaks it up - our cats have done that previously.. Have you watched them whilst they're using it or just discovered the non clumping pee lumpules??

If you have clay litter and not the clumping kind, it could be the duration of time that's passed. A fresh whiz in the box will clump, but anything older than half an hour will not hold it's shape and just disintegrate when you try to scoop it.
