Todays indian woman enjoys a lot of legal protection and legal rights which the earlier generation of indian woman could only dream of, has this changed the psyche of the indian woman for the better or for the worse ? Express your views on the changing family values of indian woman ?

Well, I have heard Indian parents talk before. They seem to come to agreement about how things should work in their family. If their kid is acting up, or not doing certain things the right away, the mom talks to the dad about the situation in a calm and concerned manner, not dramatic at all, and the dad says, "I'll go and take care of it." Indian parents put a lot in their kids and their kids respect them, because of this. I think they make great parents for their kids, because I've seen how they talk about things. The mother doesn't have to say much about her kid's behavior. The dad takes care of the situation logically, and the boy or the girl obeys his or her mother and family members again. No shouting goes on in the house.

You can't just blame all women for what a few does..
But of course,things have changed..women have understood more that they too have the right of choice and demand..
In these recent years,women's attiutude has changed a lot but men are mostly traditional when coming to personal matters..they like their "girl frnd " to be modern,very out spoken,smart and such..but when it comes to "wife".they will prefer the one who is submissive,cooks food,looks after kids and stays at home..its then the clash between new age men and women happens and family life is put upside down..when women demand,men feel being "ruled" by them and men can't withstand it...on the other side,women having more info or being more consious of her so called rights,tends to feel aggitated even for small matters which would have been gone under the curtain during earlier days..
Improvement needs to come from both sides..men should give more space for women and women should understnd their true value in the society and act accordinlgy,rather than trying to play the "head of the family"

look... it all comes to individual choices.... what is an indian woman... define that.... also define who is a woman.. she deserves her rights...
the indian woman today hasnt changed... just become bolder in asking her rights.. there is nothing wrong with western women.... just cause divorce rates are high in the west doesnt mean the women are bad.. it could also be the men who are wrong...
the earlier generation was subdued.... and legal protection and rights is every HUMANS right... the way it is for men it should be for women.....
trust me our marriages were screwed up from long time ago.. but everything would be subdued behind closed doors... women are human beings and deserved to be treated like one..
if your mum was tortured by your father and she walked out on him u would know why women in the west walk out of marriages.. it is the mans fault too

I agree, however the rules are made kept in mind what happens to rural women , however the urban women gets those advatages of it knowingly or unknownigly. If urban women wants to walk shoulder to shoulder with men, which they should.....then the rules and regulations should also be the same for working/urban women.
you will see many divorces in india too soon....as it is iin USA, every 2nd or 3rd person there is a divorcee...i dont blame women...for it.....
even the supreme court has accepted this and recently passed a law stating that the girl has no rights in her father in laws assests only her hunbands assets

your question sounds so primitive. why dont you marry a puppet or a robot. Believe me, indian women dont want to marry the "breed" of backward thinking indian men either. Thank god for other races, those men know how to treat a women!!!!! some indian men like you are Jahil kisam ke loog!!!!!

That women will be foolish who will marry you & after if she does how much respect you will give her one can understand.
