Do you mean admissions interview for medical school?
Most schools will interview with either an admission panel (kinda like the American Idol judges, but less curmudgeonly), or send you on one-on-one interviews with some faculty and students.
The interviewers want to get to know you, find out whether you have the right motives for being in medical school, figure out if you have the right kind of personality for their school, and determine whether you are a good person overall.
It might surprise you, but some people simply can't hide the fact they're egotistical, condescending, stupid, greedy asshats. The moment they open their mouths, they're doomed.
The rest of us can put on a smile and impress them with our wit and good-natured tendencies. Have poise. Be unfailingly polite (but not obsequious). Use words like "obsequious" (if and only if you know how). You don't have to know medical codes or jargon just yet, but you should be able to demonstrate an understand of major health topics and basic biology. For example, you should be able to discuss why you think pediatric obesity will have major public health implications. But you don't need to explain the molecular mechanisms of COX-2 inhibitors and why they elevate certain risks for myocardial infarctions.
Dress well. A suit and nice shoes. Make sure your hair is neat. Cover any and all tattoos, piercings (exception: only one per ear if you are female!), and make sure your hair is not dyed an unnatural color nor styled wildly. While that may sound horribly old-fashioned, it's a piece of advice given to me by MANY pre-med advisors and medical students.
Oh, and they can smell fakes from a mile a way. Most people can. Please be genuine.
Also, a good thing for all students (And job-seekers) to note is that admissions (and HR) panels search through MySpace, Facebook, etc. Never say anything denigrating or incriminating on a public website. It will come back to bite you in the keister. Also, you would do well to delete any offensive images and incriminating photos from your profile, too.
