After a while the card contacts could get a bit of corrosion and loose connectivity.

Make sure you have your graphics card driver disc available prior to starting this.

Use START/SETTINGS/CONTROL PANEL/SYSTEM (under Hardware ) and click on Device Manager.

Find your graphics card under Display Adapter and right click on it and pick uninstall it.

Turn off your computer and disconnect from the power source and open your case. Where the display cord is attached is your graphics card. Remove the attached cord and then unscrew the card holder and gently remove the card. Check the multi-pins for corrosion. Use a contact cleaner to clean them or gently rub with a clean pencil eraser to clean them.

Reboot your computer WITHOUT the video card attached. This will clean the system of the card info.

Turn off your system again, detatch the power plug and put the graphics card back in. Do this gently and using a straight in approach to prevent damage to the pins.

Connect the power, turn on your computer and you should get the notice ' A new device has been found .'

Follow the direction to load the proper drivers and the card is reinstalled.

Hope this answers your question.
