I guess I will step up and be the oddball out on this one. As much as I enjoy Hank Jr and it is "his" song, I truly love Alan's version. I had to go watch the video of George on youtube before I could answer this honestly and though the song does "suit" him, ther eis just something about Alan's version that hits me. Don't know if it is the combination of his delivery of the vocals and the instrumentation or what but I LOVE Alan's version. It has to be one of my top three or five favorites of Alan's recordings

In my opinion,Hank Jr. did the best version of this song. But Alan Jackson also does it justice, And I've never heard George Jones' version

I agree with Blue, This song fit's George Jones to a "T" with all the problems he's had in the past and all. and the video he has out is just icing on the cake.
