I want to live as Ghar Jamai.
Is it will be good for me and my wife?

"Ghar Jamai" means to live with wife where there is only girl in their family. One have to live dominated by the girl's family. As long as I know the boys who become Ghar Jamai often die due to suicide. They get fed up and end their life in waste.

Persons with immense greed for money and having no self respect only opt to become a ghar jamai.It has been seen umpteen of times that a ghar jamai is treated like a stray dog till his in laws are alive. It is only after their demise that he acquires their properties and become rich. He is looked down by other members of his community.Those who are a failure in their life,mentally or physically disabled or those who are unable to earn their own living only prefer to become a ghar jamai.
If you do want to become a ghar jamai, you have to make acquaintances into such families where there is a single female issue.It has also been seen in some cases that after the marriage of their single daughter, the parents have adapted a son from their own brothers and the aspiring ghar jamai has been discarded high and dry.

Put an ad in the paper...You will come to know the reality...There are many people out there want ghar jamai.
make sure u never open yr mouth what u want....cos ghar jamai is treated worse than stray dogs after sometime...

why do u want to be a ghar jamai? why can't u look after yourself and your wife? built up that self respect.
I too want my husband to accompany me to my parents house but never i want ourselves settle there.
It is not at all good for u and your wife. If ever u r having any financial condition, please discuss it before your marriage with the girl. If she really likes u and your honesty, she will have that confidence that u will keep her happy. She too will help u out by working or so. But please do not go for a "ghar jamai".

"Ghar Jamai"means"'son-in-law at my home only"!
Normally, the parents of the girl prefer the son-in-law to takehis wife to his home.
But some mother fond of her daughter or father much attached to her, may prefer a son-in-law to be a permanent resident in his house only!
More often than not, the son-in-law received with so much warmth , garlands and shawll over his shoulders, by and by ,is
reduced to the level of a "door mat"!
Maintaining respectable distance frim the in-laws is good!

Its not always that people having no self respect only opt to become a ghar jamai.it depends on the family you r marrying into they may treat u like their son if u behave like one supporting them emotionally,financially and your wife will respect u for this. supposedly you r married to a girl whose mom/father are old and this girl is their only support then why can't u stay with them as ghar jamai.Its all about the way you think and take things.

actually the main word is Ghar Jawai which itself is a prakrit word....now pronounce as Ghar Jamai...which literary means "Ghar means..House, Jamai means boy"........One who lives in father in laws house....

Why mate? Why do you want to waste your life? GharJamai means, you would be staying with your wife's family...Ask any married man, how difficult could that be...:-)
Generally you do not get that kind of proposal posted...but you can specify that into your profile when you register on matrimonial site....
