My husband and I are having issues with my mum and have been for the last month. We have been married 3 months and I drive down to see her as often as i can which is 3 times a week and have helped her get to appointment when her car was getting fixed. i stood my ground and voiced my opinion bout what my older sis says and does while i'm at my parents place. I finally got sick of her acting like a 5 yr old (she's 26) and told my mum i won't be around anymore cause of her and my mum turned around and said my husband brainwashed me to marry him.....she didn't like me saying anything and has lied to my mother-in-law. So i understand u not feeling cheerful at xmas.

Christmas is so stressful--I don't find time for anything but to want to be alone. Family is to much with their drinking and so on. I have been divorced for 13 years now and i havent enjoyed xmas since then. There is no money to buy gifts and I feel bad I can't give my kids presents. I find myself crying more at this time of the year. It sucks bigtime.

Don't worry, my family go to my sisters and don't even bother saying merry Christmas. My wife hates Christmas and just sits there all depressed round the in-laws, (who hate me). I cheer my self up by remembering how fortunate I am to have what I have in life. There are millions who are in a worse position than me.
Needs some snow for a white christmas.
Have a nice christmas hun x

Yes, I do have issues that interfere with my Christmas happiness............but Christmas is only one day out of the year. These issues are constant. I say, especially if you have children, you need to pick yourself up and enjoy what you can about the holiday. How many days are we given where we are supposed to be happy. It's really okay to try and enjoy it, no matter what else is going on. It's about you and how you want to feel :)

Too much stress this year over a lot of things, does make it hard to be in the spirit, but I am trying. Feeling like absolute crap today, but hanging in there. Things have been worse. Life gets hard sometimes, but we have to go on, right?
Merry Christmas everyone.

No because on the Holidays my "Family" gets "Normal again." so it's always a happy occassion. After the holidays they go back to their old selves.

Yes, when you're not with the one you love there doesn't seem like any point in rejoicing. Bah Humbug
