I think it is the Mother for her children & Children for a mother. In many holy books the status of Mother is considered above God.
Mother is one who nurtures us in her womb for nine months and brings us to enjoy the supreme blessing on earth, that is, Life. It is the Mother who guides us through our infancy and turns the soft, helpless creature to the powerful and successful. She is the guardian angel protecting us and supporting us, feeling for us and serving us silently always with a smile on her face. She prides herself watching us grow and provides us a shoulder to cry on whenever we need & in last I can say it is the God in the shape of Mother protecting us even when we turn wrong.

Best is a very relative term. I may be best in some aspects of my life but bad in others. Similarly there are scientists who discovered radio activity who were the best when we think of Radio-activity as a treatment to various diseases, but the same scientists are bad because their discovery gave humans the weapon that could wipe off the entire planet.
So redefine the question. Best, in terms of what?
