If you have cutting-edge anti-virus software, you should have nothing to fear. I've downloaded viruses before, but they are nuked before they can take control of my computer.
I use Trend-micro PC-Cillin on Windows Vista .. works like a charm!
As for viruses on Myspace, I think there's much less chance it will be there than Limewire. Downloading off limewire is like playing hop-scotch in a minefield. If you wanna rip songs off of Myspace band profiles, use this site .. it works & I use it quite frequently.

It is not compulsory that you get the virus by using music CD's you can stop access from virus.
