I have two problems birds and flies.

It is sickening to see flies do black poop on my plants and they leave a black dots on my lovely plants. I am looking for some household remedies for this problem. I have tried spraying a mild liquid dish washing liquid with water on my plants. I think it does help a little but i am not sure if the soapy water will harm my plants when it goes to soil.

What do i do with birds that eat my plants. I have done some netting on younger plants and i cannot cover the whole garden with net.

Any solutions!

All the little critters gotta eat, then all the little critters gotta poop. remove the food source, flys won't come around and poop on your pretties

Birds don't eat leaves. Birds eat the insects that eat leaves. Both birds and insects eat and poop.

My family has had these problems for years! For the flies, you have to attack them constantly because if a door is open for more than 2 secs we've got 20 flies. Keeping the dishes cleaned up helps alot! (If we leave one dirty dish on the counter, they've got food for reproduction energy) Fly swatters and people on attack mode do most of the work. Make sure there aren't any holes in screen if you have screen. Hanging fly strips if you have a place to put it where it won't get stuck in your hair and children/animals can't get to it!
As for the birds, try something different every year...cats help out IF they hunt, putting out fake birds of prey help out ALOT (an ugly old owl works best around here), short term-blow up a balloon and paint really big eyes on it and tie it to the top of a plant (they think it's an owl), if you live in the country shoot a bird and leave the dead carcass in the middle of your plants...not pretty, but if they see a fallen commrade they'll know it's not safe, and if all else fails (as is normally the case with most wildlife eating our plants) then just make sure you plant enough to share. BUT KEEP TRYING!

While tomatoes make a tasty treat for rabbits, the leaves might not. Many tomato plants have rough, fuzzy leaves that have a bitter taste. Even if your rabbit won't die from them, the leaves will not taste very good. Just for the sake of your rabbit, I'd avoid feeding the leaves to him.

For the birds, get some of those silver tassles, that blow in the wind. They seem to be afraid of that. And don't just leave it in one spot. Move them around often because the birds loose their fear if you don't. For the flies, soap and water won't hurt your plants. Byee
