I know it's a Warrant original.

Wrong hair band (to the answer above).

"Cherry Pie" is by Warrant, not Poison. It was released on Warrant's album "Cherry Pie" in 1990.

Poison have never covered it.

EDIT: Those lyrics sites need to be treated with a bit of caution, because they are essentially user contributions - which aren't always right. Case in point is P2P networks, where e.g. "Red Red Wine" is frequently listed as a Bob Marley song (he never recorded it), "I Melt With You" is by The Cure (they never recorded it), "Cat's In The Cradle" is by Cat Stevens (he never recorded it) - the list goes on.

There are many sites which list a "Cherry Pie" song by Poison, but they are all a case of mistaken identity - it is the Warrant song's lyrics which are actually listed.

The song was for Warrant. The members of Warrant and Poison were friends and in fact C.C. Deville of Poison did the guitar solo for the recorded version of Cherry Pie. At best you can call it a collaboration, but not a cover (because one of the members of Poison was part of the making of the original). Notice the sites call Posion's verson "She's My Cherry Pie" and Warrant's version just "Cherry Pie."

Not as of yet that I know of. Poison is coming out with a cover album of their own soon though, and I'm not sure what the list of songs consist of so I guess it is possible that they re-did Warrant's Cherry Pie on that. I wouldn't really count on it though. I haven't heard anything about it and I'm huge into the 80's hair bands.

Also, just thinking about it.. I couldn't picture Warrant performing Cherry Pie. That is one of them songs that no one else could pull off the way Warrant can!
