If so, then do you stop cheating or continue and hope you don't get caught? Or does the guilt keep you awake at night and then you confess?

i believe at first that men fee guilty over cheating, but as the cheating goes on longer that the guilt isn't as severe, until one day they wake up and it doesn't bother them anymore. i think down deep they may want to stop cheating but for some reason the other woman continues to pursue him, boosting his low self worth, making him feel special. at least this is what i think went on with my ex. there were times when he would go out of town to do a job, say he needed to finish the job than weeks would go by and he didn't go back. i believe this is when he truly wanted to stop it. he only confessed after he had been with her awhile. i believe he wanted to stop doing it, but that she knew there were some rough spots in the marriage, she knew it all, and i did not. so she had the advantage. i am sure the guilt kept him awake as he would complain of having a few nightmares, i had no idea what could be causing them, but looking back on it i now understand.

In the prior years of my marriage I almost cheated on my wife twice. When it almost came down to it I had to stop! D*MN *T! But not later in my marriage, and for different reasons (nothing to do with the wife-but the relationship between us) I would cheat on my wife. Our marriage isn't what it used to be in those past years. We've been married for 23 years now. I almost cheated on her when we were married about 14 years I believe. I just recently, not looking, met a woman who was beautiful in everyway from personality to emotion to everyway. We started out as friends and as time went past we began having more than just friendship. I must say, we only had an emotional relationship with each other. But I never thought I could find another woman being 49! Because I'm married, she wouldn't take the relationship any further. I'm trying to get the relationship back to being at least friends again. I just couldn't let her leave me, my emotions wouldn't let her. I've calmed down, now I want that friendship that was so good, too.

Personally, I have never cheated. However, when I was younger, 20ish, I had a married freind who was a few years older than me. (25ish). We had this woman that used to come around a flirt with us at work. He went out with her and cheated on his wife. Being his friend and a work partner, I could tell something was wrong and after a couple of days, he confided it in me. He was riddled with guilt. He had 2 young kids and he couldn't stand himself. I don't know if he ever confessed or how he handled it, but I always remembered him being as upset as he was. I don't think I ever had it in me to cheat, but I know when the opportunity has presented itself, I always thought of that guy. Good luck to you.

Cheating is a serious sign of insecurity. Sure, if I see a hot woman I look. However, I don't have the urge to prove I can multiple women, it's not in my interest, I don't need that for self confidence. My wife is enough for me.

I have never cheated. If you are cheating, your relationship will end eventually.

men AND women both cheat, not just men..... and cheaters are probably somewhat insecure and need to feel wanted by others

I would feel extremely bad if I did, probably suicidal, so I don't. The worst karma in the world is to hurt the ones that love you most.
