I am curious, the Star Spangled Banner has 4 verses, but at public events, only one verse is ever sang. Why even have the rest of the song? So I wonder, when are the other verses ever sang? ARE they ever sang?

The only place I have ever heard all four verses sung, is in church, when it is often one of the hymn selections for the service closest to Independence Day (4th of July).

Hope this helps.

It's a long tricky song. I've never heard the full verson sung, but it's probably been done by some organizations. It's probably a 10 minute song and most radio songs are around 3 to 4 minutes. It goes from being a powerful song to a song that drags, especially with what to me is a bunch of rambling about the battle.
