What has happened is that you tripped one of the breakers if not the master breaker. This could had been cause by two things. 1) if you have too many things connected or running at once and your wiring is old the system could not handle it. Especially if everything is connected to the same node. For example, if you took a hair dryer, a microwave into the bathroom and ran them bith while also running the watching machine.

The other possible cause is that the device you just plugged in is defective and thats what caused the problem. The solution is simple. Go find the breaker box, and switch the tripped breaker to the on possition. Do this while the new device is not plusgged in. Connect a diffrent device into the same outlet or at least an outlet in the ame node. If nothing strips then it was the device. If it does strips and there are sparks then there is a short in the system.

1. Unplug whatever you plugged in.
2. Find the circuit breakers and look for one that is inbetween the off and on position. sometimes you have to wiggle the switches. The blown breaker will be loose.
3. once you find the blown breaker, turn it all the way off and then all the way on.
4. if your power doesn't come back on or the circuit trips again don't mess with it. call an electrician. oh yeah. don't plug that thing in again... its broken.

You either overloaded the circut or pluged a faulty device into it. Pull the plug and reset the breaker, and add up the amps of the appliances youve got pluged into it. Chances are youre trying to pull too much power from it.Amperage is printed on the breaker.

OMG! there should be a panel aound somewhere with either circuit breakers (which you can reset, just turn it off and back on again) or a fusebox (fuses you have to replace). But unplug whatever you plugged in first before you start a fire.

Yeah, most houses don't have fuses anymore, but they do have breakers. They switch off when a faulty item is powered or when a spike is drawn through the line. Go find your breaker box and see if one of them has tripped and switch it back. If it wont let you switch it back, or it automatically switches off again, the breaker is bad and will need to be replaced.

Did you go check to see if you blew a circuit??
All the switches should be flipped the same way in the circuit breaker box!
