we actually got ours up this year, the past few years we didn't. We have our Christmas tree up and that's about all. Ran out of time.

No. You are not a grinch, you just have different priorities than your wife and kids. You'd rather have a super nice tree and spoil your loved ones with gifts. And you don't want to feel like you have to compete with neighbors. Your wife and kids would have liked to show their Holiday spirit by displaying some lights. Its okay to disagree, but keep in mind that Christmas time comes once a year, it should only take a few hours to put up the lights, and your family and neighbors would enjoy them for so much longer. You spent $3000 on gifts but your worried about your electric bill? Personally I like having lights up. It makes it feel more like Christmas time and it's nice to show that holiday spirit. My house is no where near as decorated as some neighbors, but its not a competition. Its about celebrating the holidays with a tree, gifts, AND lights!

We are grinching it up this year. Just never got around to the lights on the house. BUT the inside is all lighted up! =)

a grinch this is the most selfish time of the year. Unemployment is up moral is down and nobody sincere anymore.

I have only one decoration up... a welcome sign with Snowmen on it my daughter bought, but I had to hang it inside since the nail fell out of the door. (although, we HAVE decorated my husbands parent's house since that is where we are spending Christmas)
