First off Congratulations and a big hug to you! God bless ur little bundle of joy.
When the doctor gives you medicine, its for a purpose and just to heal you and make you regain ur strength and to make you recover fast from the after effects. So, i feel that you shouldnt be worrying about that.
During the initial days, the nipples get sore and it does hurt a bit. Keep trying and keep on trying and eventually you and your little one will get the hang of it and if the latching is correct then its a breeze. Things will be fine soon and you will become an expert in breastfeeding. During the initial days the milk might not come in abundance and dont feel that you dont have enough milk. The little milk that flows now is rich in everyway as it is colostrum and the most essential food that a baby should have. The baby's intestine is also very tiny that only a little bit of milk is all that it can hold and the milk that you produce now is more than sufficient. So dont get panic or worried and eat healthy and drink plenty of fluids and keep urself hyderated. If your baby is wetting enough diapers and if your bundle of joy is gaining weight and growing into a bigger bundle then things are absolutely perfect. If youre yet in doubt, consult a doctor and may be a lactation consultant as well to set ur mind at ease.
Stay happy and enjoy motherhood. Its an out of the world feeling :-)
God bless and wishing you Merry xmas and a very happy and prosperous New Year!!!

firstly i just read the comment about antibiotics hurting the baby through your breast milk which is stupid because the doctor would have prescribed one that was safe to take whilst breastfeeding. So don't worry about that one iota.
Secondly I hurt my tail bone whilst delivering my two children so could that be the caused of your bottom roblem? Its very rarely spoken about by doctors or midwifes as a potential problem in childbirth but its quite common and painful.
If not, you have to remember that you just pushed out a really big thing through a really small thing so make allowances for some pain and take paracetamol if you feel its bad enough. otherwise, just wait it out a few days and see how you feel. In a week you'll feel a lot different. Pain in your lower region is very very normal right now!
With the breastfeeding, your milk should be coming or have just come in about now (if baby is 3 days old). You will definately know when it does because they will get really full, start leaking and be usually noticeably bigger. If you are feeding your son every 2-3 hours, which is normal at this age, then you will be making the perfect amount for him its just that you can't actually see it happening or see how much he is really drinking. That makes us worry that we might not be producing enough. One way to really know is, is he wettting his diapers often? Is he putting on weight ?(you will know in 2 wks or so when he has a check up). Is he settled most of the time and sleeping as well as to be expected from a newborn?
Make sure to alternate breasts equally when feeding your son and make sure that he is latching on correctly!!! I cannot stress this enough!! Poor attachment leads to numerous problems. If its painful to feed your probably not attaching right and need to see a midwife for help. If it doesn't hurt then all should be fine.
Congratulations and good luck with your new baby. I highly recommend seeking out a lactation consultant or experienced midwife if you do find trouble with breastfeeding. Its the best thing I ever did with my first baby.
Best of luck

Congrats!
Your breasts are going to be tender for a couple weeks. Your milk probably just came in. This is completely normal! Just put baby to the breast everytime he fusses/puts fists in his mouth/acts hungry. It may seem like he wants to nurse constantly some days, but that is ok. He is just telling your body how much milk to make. He will naturally space out his feedings as time goes on. The rule of thumb for newborns is not to let them go more than 2 hours between feeding during the day and no more than 4 hours between feedings at night. But like I said, that is just a maximum, he may want to nurse more frequently sometimes. I'd set up a "nursing station" with water, snacks and my nursing pillow so I always had what I needed when I sat down to nurse. I also got very good at NAK (nursing at keyboard). LOL
Oh and I'd hold off on any bottles or pacifiers for at least the first 3-4 weeks while you are both learning how to breastfeed and your milk supply is getting established. I was a little paranoid about the nipple confusion thing but I followed all that advice and had no problems breastfeeding my son for 12+ months!
For the sore bottom, make sure you are drinking LOTS of water. Like 10 8oz glasses a day. Dehydration can make you constipated. (Maybe TMI but your pee should be almost clear) Also, eat high-fiber foods like whole grains and fruits and veggies. That should get everything moving for you. ; ) If you are still having problems after a few days, ask if you can try another stool softener.

Best Wishes!

Everything you are feeling is totally normal! It will go away soon. As for breastfeeding, it's a little tender at first but stick with it. After awhile, it doesn't hurt at all. Plus, it is the best thing for your baby! If you nurse your baby about every 2 hours, it should help from getting engorged. Breastfeeding was really challenging for me in the beginning and it was painful because the baby wasn't latching on correctly. Consider seeing a lactation consultant if it hurts in a week or so. Congrats on your baby!

Yea...this must be your first kid. Breastfeeding can hurt ...your breasts fill with milk until they are rock hard (then the kid is asleep so you can't exactly relieve the pressure)...sometimes your nipples can crack (they have stuff out there to help that)....sometimes it hurts...you just have to grin and bear it...it's what is best for the kid. There are also a lot of non-painful things about it too...so ...I just wanted to add that....sounds like I am only negating the experience and I do not want to do that. It's great bonding time.
If you think you are not making milk (is the baby wanting to latch on ALL the time...crying a lot?? Seems hungry??...this is how you will know...talk to your doc too...they should also have you see a breast feeding specialist to make sure things are going smoothly...ask your OB/GYN or your kids pediatric doctor about this). Best of luck to you and CONGRATS!!!

Congrats, and yes being sore is to be expected. I am sure that the hospital gave you discharge instructions regarding pain. I am not sure if your milk has come in, but if you find that you are filling up more quickly, and feeling "full" then you are probably well on your way. Let your baby suck as long as he wants to as often as he wants to so you can really start making milk for him. Good for you on breastfeeding by the way. Soreness is quite normal in both areas. Continue with the meds and call your OB if you are worried. Congratulations and good luck.

IF THE DOC GAVE U IT AND HE KNEW U WERE BF THEN I WOULDNT WORRY. I ALSO GOT THE POOP SOFTNER..THAT WONT HURT THE BABY. BUT ANYTHING BESIDES TYLENOL I WOULD DOBLE CHECK. AND I GOT THE LANSINOL CREAM THAT IS MADE FOR SORE OR CRACKED NIPPLES. AND IS SAFE FOR UR BABY. IF HE GETS IT WHILE BREAST FEEDING. MAKE SURE U SEE A LACTATION SPECIALIST IF BREAST FEEDING HURTS CAUSE IT SHOULDNT. MINE SHOWED ME THE CORRECT WAY AND IT DIDNT HURT AFTER THAT. GO TO LA LECHE.COM FOR ADVICE AND GOOGLE IT THERE IS TONS OF INFO

Why would you get antibiotics that could harm the baby in breast milk?
