good for you that you come to Y!A and participate. Communication to your fellows, friends and family will play so much important role in helping to fight homesickness, just make sure watch your budget. Join the community organizations in your local, this is good for people abroad. Make firends in chatrooms, just be careful who u will be talking to, this can help you especially to those who lived far away from the familiar communities. Go Shopping for a while.
Take a walk in a mall. Rest and watch some of the (Filipino) movies...comedies for you to laugh!

The best thing to do when you're homesick is to, well, go home. You're not able to come home? Get yourself a webcam and use Yahoo! Messenger to call home. Don't have a laptop or PC? Call your family and/or friends on internet cafes via Yahoo! Messenger (you have to arrange this one, though). At this point, some people will still argue that it costs money, but time spent with your family is absolutely priceless.

"Dollars" versus "homesick."

I've fought this match the whole twelve rounds. Knocked down at the end. Asked for a rematch. Knocked down again.

I don't think I will have the second wind.

Try to meet some nice people wherever you are. For sure, they will help you to overcome your homesickness. Besides, it just a matter of period of adjustment on you part.
It's Christmas time! Allow me to extend my warmest season's greetings to you and your entire family. May the new born baby JESUS continue to bless you with good health, abundant love and prosperity!
Merry Christmas to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One thing is to be surrounded by friends and keeping busy. But I know it is usually at nighttime, before going to sleep, that homesickness hits you...when you start missing everybody back home. Well, you can always log on to YAP to fill your time until you feel drowsy and you only have to hop into your bed and close your eyes...viola! you'll be fast snoring peacefully in your bed.

Find items from your home and set them where you see them everyday, and think of the memories.
It really feels like home is coming with you.
