My connection of ADSL is disconnected instantly when i unplug the LAN cable from my modem.
However I need to stay online after i unplug my cable for more than 2sec. but i failed due to the instantaneous disconnection,how to make my LAN card or mayb modem not so sentitive for unplug LAN cable?i need this for gaming,called smug.
is there any adjustment i need to make?

Correction:I think the cable i meantioned should be ethernet cable instead of LAN cable.

never unplug live cables

Obviously a disconnected cable will stop your connection. Continuous disconnection of an active cable can cause damage to equipment. Think what happens if you remove a vacuum cleaner plug, doesn't it immediately stop? On line means exactly that, connected to the line. I see no reason why you would need to disconnect like this.

Its impossible to connect using an ADSL modem and Lan connection without a ethernet cable.
You can use wireless connection instead.
You then need to use a wireless router and also install a wireless card or adapter on your computer.

It seems impossible if your ADSL modem is connecting via a LAN cable. You can only use a PCI ADSL modem, if so, you need a much stable power supply; adding a UPS may help.
