The kids have gone to grandma's for the holidays and it's so quiet here. I had to turn the TV on just for some noise cuz the walls started to close in on me.
I love short silences. I'm a teacher, and when the classroom quiets down for a few moments, it is the most wonderful sound in the world. Like someone wrapped up my brain in a cozy blanket.
Silent walks on cool winter nights are great too.
And you know the sound of a fresh snowfall at 3 in the morning when you go out before the snowplows come through and everything is covered in a fresh, white layer of soft, fluffy snow? That is the best sound of silence.

Nooo! I need noise! Silence usually means something's wrong, you know what I'm sayin', city girl? I need to know that everything's OK, so, make some noise! Somebody scream! {then I can find you, and rescue you} Ever went to a quiet party? "Hell Naw!!" never. I am addicted to sound or noise.. If it's absolutely silent I feel uncomfortable only except when I am concentrating on lecture or sleeping
