my divorce isnt final yet, but me n my stb ex-hubby are just now starting to talk (directly, that is). since the beginning, weve been communicating only thru our lawyers. but as u know, it can get pretty expensive. aside from the obvious financial burden on us both, i guess its because weve come to our senses? perhaps, we both realized our faults and are just trying to get along for the sake of our children? whatever it is, im kinda feeling better about things now. although we do hv a court-ordered agreement, we said that we would only resort to it on things we cant agree on.
am i reading too much into things? or could this actually be a good thing? id appreciate opinions or experiences.
please, no sarcasm.

I very much hope that it is all positive and works out that way, but you must take into account why your marriage failed in the first place. If you found out you could not trust him, you should unfortunately not forget that. Judge him by what he does, not what he says.

Of course its a good thing!

The pressure is off now, so you can start to talk to each other instead of letting your emotions take over.

Take it slow and steady, remember that it's the kids who are the most important people around you at the moment. Look after their emotional wellbeing.

Just don't get all starry eyed and forget why you got divorced in the first place...

I think that it is a good thing. You are going to have to deal with each other because of your kids. It is better to get along and to do what is best for your children.

As long as it stays positive, what could it hurt to see how it goes. Good luck.
