We're like family, and all of the sudden she stopped answering my calls. Usually when I call my friend, she always answered the phone and nowadays they aren't answering. I know they are home because that's all they do is stay home and drink. However on my last visit with them, there was a strange feeling in the room. It's that feeling you get when you know somebody has just finished talking about you. When she left for work, she basically said bye to everyone except me. She doesn't look like she is upset with me, but I have a gut feeling my presence is no longer needed.

I used to hang out with them everyday, largely because I used to drink with them. (Thank you to the Yahoo Answeres by the way/ I've been sober for four months because of your advice.) Ever since I started losing weight and stopped partying with them it seems like the are more stand-offish with me. Am I hallucinating?

Have you ever heard the old line, misery loves company? Well, your so called friends are miserable, just wallowing in a pig sty. You on the other hand, had the courage to crawl up out of that big, dark, bottomless pit. You have improved yourself. CONGRATULATIONS!!! You area the clear winner here and they are so jealous, they cannot see straight. Stay on the wagon and wish the best for them. I wish the best for you, you have courage and guts!!!

I agree with what the first guy said. They were your drinking buddies real friends are there through thick and thin. In my opinion she might think that you think you are better than them because you have done something that has had a positive change in your life. When all is said and done surround yourself with people who respect who you are. I went through the same thing after highschool I stopped smoking Mary and all my friends that did that didn't have time for me anymore. Oh well, their still doing and being good for nothing!

Sometimes tht happens when you surround yourself with people that do a lot of drinking. What you need to do is find true friends that do not drink as much, and will accept you the way you are. Don't be pressured into doing something distructive because some phony people won't talk to you.
