different, cheaper way to go instead of using PayPal?

I am trying to find REPUTABLE, cheaper alternative to using Paypal for my ebay transactions. Any suggestions? I am in the USA so no foreign companies please.

Sure. Go to your local bank and them them you want to open a Merchant Account. You will get your own credit card machine so you can directly accept credit cards.
