I have searched for information and keep coming up with nothing.. a month ago my left breast was very sore and painful.. almost like a pre menstral feeling but much much worse.. it hurt to touch or put clothes on and it felt very hard.. (I am NOT breastfeeding) I rushed to the Doc, who did an ultrasound and found nothing.. the pain eventually went away... this morning I wake up with the SAME pain only worse, on the right side.. I am not getting my period.. I am not pregnant (havent been in 5 years) and while the doctor wrote off the first side by saying I must have injured myself.. now its on the other side.. Has anyone experienced such a thing.. it is not red or distorted just very sore and hard.. (not a lump.. like the whole breast) like when your milk comes in....and just the one side... (no discharge or anything either... ) HELP!

It's true your lymph ducts might be affected & swell during each cycle...
Lumps in the breast are not always indicative of fibrocystic changes. The breast is a naturally lumpy entity, composed of milk glands, ducts, other fibrous tissue, and supporting ligaments.

Fibrocystic condition usually occurs as a result of repeated hormone stimulation. This increases breast tissue firmness, leading to the formation of pockets of fluid in blocked or swollen milk ducts. Such tissue may feel lumpy, with areas of increased thickness, and may have a slightly raised edge. Alternatively, it could feel like tiny beads scattered throughout the breasts.
Fibrocystic changes most frequently occur in both breasts, usually in the upper area of the breast, away from the nipple or underneath the breast. Women with fibrocystic condition who are still menstruating may experience swelling around these cysts, with pain ranging from an ache, with increased sensitivity or a burning sensation to severe pain.
*Keep going back to your doc., until these symptoms get resolved or get a new doc.

kimi - Because you requested, I understand you're involved. But, you wish to have now not fear approximately melanoma considering that of your very younger age and the truth that agony is NOT more commonly because of melanoma within the breast. Your description might good be a swollen, potentially infected and/or inflamed designated sweat gland cyst more commonly discovered within the armpits or groin. These Meibomian sweat glands can emerge as blocked and not able to more commonly positioned out their sweat. This can influence in a single or a couple of small, painful and benign cysts. The situation could be referred to as hidradenitis. You would have your health care professional examine it out and notice whether or not or now not it demands to be tired or opened.
