Front Headphone jack wont output sound?? -new computer :s -?

Question

i got this new computer, and it has a headphone jack at the front. speakers are plugged in the back and they putput sound perfectly. shouldnt using my headphones be as easy as plugging it in?
ive already tried unplugging my speakers and then plugging in my headphones. still nothing.

its probably loose
open your computer case, find any loose wires, and connect them
it should work then
(the wires should fit perfectly)

It's brand new and under warranty, just return it to the store and they will fix it.
