This was upsetting to me of course. When I mentioned this to my psycotherapist he said,"You must use crappy birth control!" Exact quote. This seems like an unprofessional comment and is just one of the many odd, hurtful things I have to listen to. Is there anyway on earth a comment like this is supposed to help a patient? BTW I am married.

What your psychotherapist did is very unprofessional & I would 't stick with him/her.
They are there to support you, that's what your paying for, not their criticism.
It's time to find a new psychotherapist....

If a psychotherapist makes you feel that way, he is likely not be the one for you. Well, I'd say definitely the wrong one. Psychotherapists are not supposed to be judgmental, and that's just such a nasty comment--it's both judgmental and completely dismissive of your emotions. That's simply bad psychotherapy. How are you supposed to establish a bond of trust, and feel like you can be relaxed and open up your true feelings, when he make that kind of comment? Your instincts are right--he's unprofessional and odd.
