I've never heard the expression before, never seen it in print or on-screen until this moment [except possibly someone trying to spell Emu].

But I have to go into town this morning to pick up groceries and refill a propane bottle. I'll try to remember to say it to someone in the grocery line so's I can be viewed as being as cool as I am.

It's not cool. The term emo is used to describe a teen who is manic depressive. Mostly depressive.
Then it became a ploy for attention and some sick kind of identity. Teens who can't find a place to fit in may decide to be emo. Then dress and act the part.
At least hippies did not give themselves the name hippie..it was given to them. They were not trying to be trendy...they just were themselves.

Let me tell you something though. Senior citizens are the ultimate in cool. They/we have reached the point that they don't give a rats behind what anyone else thinks. They are what they are. Take it or leave it and if that is not cool then there is no such thing.

Clint Eastwood is a very beautiful guy and he's on up there. some men seem to enhance a sensuality that shows of their voices and their eyes and of their entire interest to you in a communication. I actual have felt my face flush slightly whilst conversing to 3 men. They nevertheless exude sexiness even nonetheless they are way previous matinee idol prestige, and it comes organic to them. An older guy is familiar with a thank you to make a woman experience alluring using skill of a sprint or a glance. It takes a lot of years to enhance those little gestures, and that i do no longer undergo in innovations it as a high quality in youthful men. And yeah, i think of that I qualify as a good looking senior citizen. i'm very comfortable interior the corporation of fellows and be responsive to a thank you to cause them to experience comfortable with me. i think of that has plenty to do with sexiness, no longer the way that somebody looks of their clothing.

Seniors are not emo's. Its not an emotional roller coaster ride for us. Wait a sec here. Listen. You hear that? No violins playing in the background. Must mean I am not emo.

emo is not a cool thing to say and being emo isnt cool either. i would start to say 'emo' music where the guys sound like girls isnt great either but were entilted to our each & own opinions. but emo derives from the word 'emotional' and who wants to be labeled as emotional? but i guess we cant help labeling people that who look so sad all of the time on their myspace pictures and cut themselves. but they just need to grow up about the cutting themselves part--not funny at all! but to answer your question...because old people have better things to do . merry christmas!!! =)

Maybe it's for the same reasons why we no longer call each other "hippies" or "flower children"...we just don't have many hangin' around us anymore! EMO is a buzz word for what we (I) once called posers, burn-outs, or sketchers. The main difference is that the ones I knew slit their wrists & ruined their arteries, rather than simply slicing up their arms for attention-getting scars & scabs!

I am balanced, don't do the "Emo" thing with attention seeking behavior. This too shall pass

Why would it be cool to have people think you are unstable and need to be committed to a psychiatric facility?

Why would I say it? I know even know what it means. The only EMO I ever heard of is a brand of imitation sour cream.

EMO is lame actually. It soooo 2006 :-D Seriously, "emotional rock"?...c'mon! Who wants to hear some miserable guy who straightens his black hair with his mother's curling iron whining about how life is so tough and the world is so mean? Lame. What I'd tell these kids is to get a job and stop moping around Starbucks with your Dad's credit card.
