woul it help my male build his bubble nest if i fed him frozen bloodworms?

That would depend on why he isn't building one now (if the isn't).

Feeding good quality food( pellets, bloodworms, daphnia, blackworms, mosquito larvae) are all part of conditioning your fish for breeding, but you also need to keep them at the proper temperature (76-86oF, 24-30oC) and in good water quality. If he's in an unfiltered container, make sure you're changing the water at least every other day. If you have him in a filtered tank, he may be blowing the nest but the current from your filter is destroying them. You can cut a styrofoam cup in half lengthwise and float it on the surface (http://www.flippersandfins.net/Images/BettaCup2A.jpg ) for him to put the nest in or use floating plants to create less disturbance.

Also, check to see that he isn't showing any signs of disease or parasites - an unhealthy fish isn't going to be as interested in breeding as a healthy one. Once you have him healthy, well fed, and in the proper environment, the only reason for him not to be interested in nest blowing is advanced age.
