I always give better gifts than I recieve.
I am giving a porcelain elephant tea set, that's tacky as hell. But is a true "White Elephant Present" see article below
A Pink Quartz Chocker, Pink is a rare form of Rose Quartz. Very hard to pull off and requires polishing
and ABC play blocks, why just for kids. Big a bulky and not typically useful.
The best I got was a bathrobe.

Traditionally, my daughter's fiance's family plays a version of the White Elephant Exchange each year. She was the first to pick her gift, and therefore the last to swap. She had a "clapper" (lights on; lights off) which apparently no one else wanted, but since she had last choice she came home with a beautiful pair of bedroom lamps.
IMHO--- bringing a useful and pretty gift to a White Elephant defeats the purpose of the game, since the gift is supposed to be a liability that you can't use. However, I am happy that she got something she liked.

I got a really cute handbag from Victoria Secret, filled with lotion, bath gel, make up..that kind of stuff. We played the pirate game, of course, and I had to steal it back strategically. It was that good of a white elephant gift, especially compared with some of the other things. Someone brought a monkey toilet brush.

Not sure what a "white elephant gift exchange" is but if it's anything like a grab bag the answer is perfume.
