you can go...but not without a tampon to prevent it from leaking. being in water (especially during swimmming), your flow slows down. Im a swimmer and when i am on my period, there is no blood whil eimj swimming. But just to be clean for others, wear a tampon. also, during your period, your vagina is more prone to infections, so be careful where you are swimming

Same answer as the other woman. Yes you can go in the swimming pool if you have a tampon. NOT with a pad

But that comment about Sharks makes a good point. You would have to check with the locals where you are swimming.

I know that camping in the forest when you have your period might attract bears.

I don't see a problem with it if you use tampons. However, keep in mind that they can become saturated and blood will leak out so make sure you check from time to time and have extra tampons when you need to change it. Also, water can get in and soak the tampon and that can cause blood to seep out. If it were me, I wouldn't go swimming on heavy flow days if I could avoid it. There's always the risk of an embarrassing accident happening. You could get out of the pool and have bloody water streaks running down your legs or get up from where you're sitting and see blood-tinged water.

You can go swimming with your period if you are using tampons. I know that swimming pools are no problem but I know nothing about oceans, so I do not know anything about swimming with potential hazards like sharks or pirhanas or such, but as for the bleeding part of it, just use tampons and you won't have any problems. Good Luck

Yes, usually menstruation stops when you are in water.
Wear a comfortable tampon (if you can find a comfortable one.) Of course, a pad during swimming is not sanitary for you or others.
