first off i used to work in walmart in san antonio in the pet department, the supervisors were jerks, always asking you to do more even though you are about to pass out, you get yelled at for taking a 10 second drink break. for you out there wondering why know one knows anything about their department, they DID NOT choose that department, i didn't want pets, i know very little about what pet food is better, i know more about electronics and tvs and should have rightfully been placed in that department. they want you to work late, and cut hours on friday so you don't get overtime, BUT still expected to do 8 hours of work in 6 hours or less. it's riduculous. the managers out and out yell at you in front of the customers, and in front of the other employees. i don't work there cause i had enough and called in 2 days and found another job. i just want to know if anyone else experianced this working at walmart? yes i did see the high cost of low prices video on starz, it's true!

I worked at a New Hampshire Wal-Mart for 7 months. I found it to be the worst 7 months of my life. The employees were all very negative and most hated their jobs. What you described is mostly true but I did choose my department and those employees who asked for transfers to other departments were generally given them as the departments had openings. My biggest complaint was that they did not repair or replace broken pallet jacks. Try pulling a 2000 lb pallet on a jack with wheels that do not turn freely. I also just found a new job and never went back, never even called in to quit.

I haven't worked at Wal-mart and know I never could. I have heard way too many stories like yours. I am not one to take crap from an employer, supervisor, or anyone else for that matter. First time any of that happened to me I would be like f you, do it yourself cause I'm outta here.
But I have been asked if I was finding things alright while in the store. And the cashiers always ask.

I personally have not worked at walmart but I do know that I am extremely frustrated everytime I go into a walmart. The employees always treat their customers like crap. I have NEVER been asked if I was finding everything I needed.

I have been to walmarts in many states, so i know it is not just here.

We, unfortunately. have a Wal-Mart here and I hate the fu*king thing with a purple passion. They are way to loud in there, never get any help and their people are worked like dogs !!!!!!!!!!
I avoid that place at ALL COSTS AT ALL TIMES. i support my local merchants who know me and greet me by name when I go in there and they appreciate my business.
By the way, we have a K-Mart next door and that is where I do my shopping - to give the stupid jerks at Wal-Fa*t a run for their money.
I call the "greeters" the GESTAPO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
