First we will go to the nursing home to see my father . Then we will go to my husband's family get together . We had to rent a place for it. We do not have no children but there will be four generations there. There was 8 children in his family and all of them had at least 3 children each except us. So there should at least be 35 family members or more. We all live in the same county. Is that not great? Merry Christmas and enjoy your boy's excitement. You are so lucky to have a child !!!

Sounds like you are having a magical time with your son - I do hope you have a great day tomorrow.
Here in Australia , Santa is almost here - its 10.45pm and I should be off to bed, otherwise he won't come at all !
We spent a quiet day, visited a sick friend and then prepared the food that we are taking to my son's place tomorrow. His refrigerator is broken, so we are providing all the perishable items. We sliced up a lot of chicken and ham, and made potato salad, and peeled prawns. Yum !
Tonight we rang far-away family members, and then settled down and watched the last episode of "Lonesome Dove", which we've been watching this week after picking it up for $10 at the DVD shop. What a gem that series was...I loved it !
So now its time to hit the sack - so do have a wonderful Christmas with your son. These are the "very special years"....imprint them on your mind, and they will last you a lifetime in your heart , Wick. Best wishes to you :-)

It sounds like this might be your first Christmas with just the
two of you. He's at that perfect age of wonder. The age of
innocence that takes in all of the lights and glitz he can see
around him. I wonder if he's been able to see decorated
houses at night with displays? They really are transfixed
and wondering what it's all about.
Well tomorrow night, it will be just hubby and I and our two
fur babies. We'll have a quiet evening and then I will probably
open one present that my hubby bought for me. I feel bad
that I don't have one to give him this time around. But he's
not wanting anything, so that helps alot. He bought our two
little dogs a battery operated ferret toy that has a ball it
rolls around with. They are fun for entertaining cats and
dogs. Moreso for dogs tho. I'd think cats would totally
freak, from how fast these toys move around a floor. So
that will serve to entertain us for awhile. Then we'll have a
drink, and we'll probably watch an old movie, and then
go to bed at a half decent hour. Because the next morning
we have to get up and take care of some things and then
head to our daughters house. And we'll have dinner there
and gift opening. It's the first time we've been to their house
on Christmas Day. They are reversing plans to accomodate
us, and they'll spend tomorrow night with his family instead.
And we'll not stay late at our daughters since it's dark by
4:00 and we don't like to drive at night anymore. And they
have work the next morning and our leaving early will be to
their liking also. So being alone on Christmas Eve will be
a first for us. But I'm sure very enjoyable, never the less.

You are so blessed to have a small one to enjoy the holidays. That is truly the most FUN when the excitement and joyous squeals ring our.
Today all the at home kids are off to visit w/Dad and step Mom.
Tomorrow morning we have all the fun with the 4 yr. old grandson and 9 yr. old granddaughter waking up to Santa's visit.
Slow cooking a ham today. Have cinnamon rolls ready to bake for the early morning with our first cups of coffee.
Hubby dropped a ton battery on his thigh friday. I think the Lord is getting his attention by forcing him to take it easy the rest of the week. He is a workaholic placed in exile.
Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!

Perhaps quite exciting - party - huge family gathering from all over the world.
Retelling of old family stories and the hearing of new ones - catching up on all the adventures of our far flung clan.
Remembering past Christmases spent in as many countries as we have had Christmas dinners .............. times spent in the company of the good and the great, the rich and the notorious.
It's been a wonderful life and never a dull moment and even fewer moments of want or hardship.
But do you know what m'dear ..............................
the Christmas that you are going to have with that wee lad is the one thing that I have never experienced and the one that I would have given all the rest up for.
I wish you both the most wonderful time - and should you have a moment in time when you can think of your pals on here - think of me and give that precious gift from God of yours a wee kiss on his head and know that you are truly blessed.
Merry Christmas to you both - and I hope that Santa has to bust down the doors to get all his presents to him!

Actually I've done them already...woke up at 6:30 am and baked and cooked until 5:00 pm. Took a shower and back to cooking . My husbands family came over and after dinner and dessert we listened to one of my son's play his guitar and do some Christmas songs for us. Same as you I snuck upstairs and wrapped all the gifts and need to get back up at 6:30 again to get my coffee flowing through my veins and then making hot cocoa cinnamon rolls and OPENING the gifts. I hope you and your child have a very blessed Christmas.

Enjoy that little one....time goes so fast and all to soon they are grown up and out the door. It sounds like you are a special parent.
Christmas Eve I am taking the dinner in to my mother in laws. She is 78 and just not as spry as she used to be. Her husband died 3 years ago and Christmas is very bitter sweet for her and her sons. We'll eat, open gifts and laugh about good memories.
Christmas day will be laid back as we have no place to be until 4pm. It will be a big gathering on my side of the family. My dad is 91 now and in pretty good shape. I cherish every Christmas with him as well as every other day of the year.
Merry Christmas to you all!

How much I envy you to have Christmas with a 4 year old..It will be the best Christmas ever, they cannot contain their excitement..We will travel to our sons families house about 3 hours north, after dinner we will probably play board games with the grand kids, they are teens and not nearly as much fun as true Santa believers..enjoy..he will grow up way to fast..

In my family we have always celebrated Christmas on Christmas Eve. We will be having dinner at about 1730, after dinner we will celebrate my sisters 45th birthday, then we will drink hot buttered rum and play apples to apples and maybe uno.
Good luck getting him to bed that early! I wouldn't be surprised if he wakes up again at 0400! Don't forget to jingle those jingle bells in the middle of the night to let him know that Santa is about!
