There was complication with my wife's first pregnancy. Baby was terminated due to renal agensis. Now I want to know that there is same risk in future pregnancy also. If there is a defected child, then other child will be normal or defected. Iam very much worried. Please answer this.

If you are truly concerned you need to talk to a genetic counselor and find out if it is something that can be passed to future children.

It is really unpredictable.
I just read that Renal Agenesis can be either hereditary or environmentally caused. But if it were hereditary, then there is a definite risk for any future pregnancy for this to happen again. If that were the case, I would look into sperm donors or egg donors. I really do hope that is not the case though!
I am very sorry for your loss.
I wish you good luck in the future.

I do not know how it would be possible to find out if this were genetic or not.

Not sure if I understood your question correctly but if you are asking if your unborn child will have abnormalities because the first one did than I would have to say no. The gene that causes certain abnormalities does not always present. Sometimes, it will not not get passed and you will have a perfectly healthy child. Of course there is a possibility of it happening again. I am sure the Dr will keep a close eye and run all necessary tests. If your wife has a nw Dr. she should make him aware of the previous pregnancy ASAP.

You should sit down and talk with a genetic counselor, they would be able to tell you more about what your chances are then anyone here.
