This question is meaningless if you do not :-
1) Designate the tribal society. Tribal societies are not the same all over the world.
2) Mention which tribal customs and beliefs. Customs and beliefs are not the same in all tribal societies.

For example, if you had asked about learning from the tribal custom of justice of an Early Tribal society, the answer would be yes, we can learn a lot from "them" because in most Early Societies, there is no crap about forgiveness and parole and rehabilitation. Most crimes like murder and rape were/are punishable with death.
I was born in an Early(Primitive) Society. I left when I was ten. My granny died there at the age of 86. In all her years there she had never heard of a rape, a murder, a mugging, or robbery. The only crime she could remember was committed by one of her sisters. Her sister had chosen to marry a man who was not approved of by the family. Both of them would have been killed by their rerspective families had the both of them not run away. They were never heard from/of again.

A great Culture. My family moved away when I was 10. I went back to live there when I was 56, but all of it was gone. The Christian missionaries and Western business had changed everything. Crime was everywhere. I came back to "modern civilization" where I could afford to buy a gun and put prison iron bars on my doors and windows.

They can learn how families are important. And how each member of the family has a role and responsibility to do for family and for tribe. They can learn how to survive in an environment that is definitely adverse to man living in it. Truly there are many animal and vegetation lifeforms that are dangerous to man. But these people have recognized the dangers and have passed this necessary knowledge from generation to generation.

What I really like about them is what is missing in civilized societies. Rites of passage where a young man or woman becomes a woman or man. Civilized societies have no such delineation and it's all chaotic and confusion. The moral obligation is stressed not just from man to man but from man to a law higher than man as well as to their ancestors..

Tribal so cities are unafraid to acknowledge the spiritual reality of the world along with the physical. They have a universal understanding of the world that is lacking in Western society. A lot of that knowledge is not written in books but is taught in daily living. It becomes a part of their life.

Tribal societies are what civilized societies once were.

These are just some of the things I can think of off hand. Great question.

Well, there's a difference between could and would. There might be lots of things a "civilized" society could learn, but very little they will learn. (I am assuming that by civilized you mean persons like yourself, since civilization has many definitions and being tribal does not inherently discount being civilized.)

At any rate, history has demonstrated that when a more advanced society comes into contact with a more primitive society then the primitive society will soon be destroyed by contact with the advanced society.

Your question reminds me of how Gandhi replied to this question: "What do you think of Western Civilization?"
Gandhi: "Well, I think that would be a good idea!"

Tribal, barbarian, civilized-- whatever we call ourselves, we are primarily instinctually-driven, biologically-wired, socially organized creatures. We cannot live without each other, and it seems sometimes we can't live with each other. And that happens in tribal sized groups as well as nation states.

You just described what we need. Tribal law makes more sense than our own. Lol.
However, that is easier said than done. Be careful what you ask for. You might get it.
