I have 265 dollars (75 gift card for Target, 190 cash), and I'm going to buy a ps2. It is a little behind the times, but it's what I'm going to buy. I need to know some good games, but I can't have any of the Grand Theft Auto games (dad's a little weird about that), I really like shooter games, and war games are okay. I am willing to try anything, but please no text based games! I am a 14 year old boy, and want a fun game that can last a while.

Here is a slew of WWII gaes: The Medal of Honor games would fit the bill in regards to shooters/military games, the story lines are well done and for a younger player the levels are more streamlined.... For more of a challenge check out Call of Duty one and two, these are both great games and offer larger maps and better graphics.

I really liked Star Wars Republic Commando or Star Wars Battlefront 2... very fun modern shooters,,, nothing too graphic here.

I like shooters as well but for something different that a group of people can play together check out Hot Shots Golf 3 and Fore.... the learning curve is short and you'll get hooked on it if your not careful.

Prince of Persia offers a lot of game play, very mild violence, good for youth, a few puzzles.... looks like a disney animated movie,,, great graphics, story and gameplay.

For something a bit more violent there is God of War, note that there is also references to sex and simulated sex segment in the game so I do not know if you want your son playing this game at his age.

Anyway, great choice with the PS2,,, a ton of great games out there.
