He doesn't believe it is a federal government decision.

He wants to return illicit drug laws back to the states.

The Congressman makes a good point that back when alcohol was prohibited the government followed the law and amended the Constitution.

Marijuana was legal until either the 1920's or 1930's. Cocaine was put in soda pop. I remember my grandmother telling me stories about her friend who snorted coke while at work in a grocery store.

I'll bet that lady could bag groceries like nobody's business.

That's what he's said. Congress would have to write the law though.

he wants to limit big govt and leave it to local govts to decide what is best for that area
