My sister is having a few come to her house..
Just long enough to hear
Auld Lang Syne and I'm heading home.
Remember drink coffee 2 hours before driving when leaving party if you've been tipping the bottle ☺

Probably fix something special for supper, maybe a glass or two of wine, watch a movie or two (depending on what time we put the first one in), then off to bed at usual time. If it's one of my nights when I can't sleep, I may actually see the New Year come in -- but with the wine, hopefully no trouble sleeping.

Learned a long time ago not to go out on New Years Eve - it's amateur night - people that never drink are out on the roads and kill lots of people that way. Plus the police are out in full force -

Now that we know better, we have been staying home for
New Years for eons it seems like. I don't want to be another
statistic, so we stay snuggled in.
We'll be playing it by ear that night. I'll probably stay awake
either here, or watching a movie and finally having that glass
of Kahlua and cream on the rocks that I forgot to have on our
anniversary the other night LOL. I'm so conditioned
to not drinking, I forget on special occasions to allow myself
one. Meds keep me from drinking normally.
We'll maybe have a later dinner and then some snacks
before it gets to be 12:00 and we'll toast with something
around here, even if it's iced tea LOl.
Then we'll watch the ball drop and listen to the noise of
firecrackers going off outside and maybe other fireworks
as well. I expect it to be noisy as it always is. Since we
can't sleep, we always stay up in this neighborhood to
welcome in the New Year!

I've been invited to a party at a co-worker's home...young man [31] and his wife and two kids. He and I have a lot in common in that we are both interested in eclectic things, art, decorating, architecture etc. I really want to go, but I had already committed to my annual visit to my best local friend's house. She fixes pig's feet ,collard greens, rice and black eyed peas, cornbread and potato salad. YUMMY...so that is where I'll be. :-)

The real question will be whether I make it to midnight! Last year I left around 11 pm 'cause I was getting sleepy and wanted to get the drive home outta the way lol

If the sky is clear I'm figuring I'll walk out front with a pair of binoculars and have a look at what's going on among the celestials until the cold drives me back inside.

New Year's Eve is for staying home, as far as I am concerned. Too many amateur drunks out there, and I have no desire to meet any of them, either on the street or in a bar.

We will be at home, watching a good movie, having popcorn, and then at midnight, watching the ball go down in Times Square, and toasting each other. Of course, we have to toast in each time zone, lol!

Then it will be to bed, to get up early on New Year's day and go to my daughter's house for her traditional New Year's brunch with blackeyed peas, smoked salmon, venison stew and all sorts of other goodies.

I usually never go out New Years eve. I don't drink and I would rather not be killed by a drunk driver. I am content to stay home and watch the festivities on TV.

Yeh I going to watch all those people on TV in Times Square, huddled elbow to elbow, freezing their A---s off in the cold. Just so they can say that they were there.THey also have to watch out for pickpocketers. Then they have to fight all the traffic to try to get home.
While I sit in my nice warm house, watch the ball drop and walk in the next room and go to bed.

We will also be snuggled on the sofa watching movies. Got a whole box full in the mail and can't wait to start popping the corn and start the show.

Matter of fact, yes, just today the church Bassist and his wife just invited a few of the church staff over to their home for dinner and an evening of fellowship. It should be an excellent evening... They are good hosts and their parties are usually quite enjoyable.

Yes, I do the same thing every single year. I hit the crib earlier than any other night of the year.. I say a prayer that next year will be as good as the last one. If you've seen one, you've seen them all.
