Troy Smith is great. He is the Future. He will be the starter next season. We will know by week4 if he is a stud or a dud.
He just needs an opportunity.

I hope he gets a chance in this league, people knock him cuz of the game versus Florida and his height (6 foot flat) but with the right scheme and some playmakers, he can succeed. He fumbled the ball twice and that needs to stop but he didn't throw any picks and he can run a little bit, so that's another plus for him.
Unfortunately, Billick might be fired this year (which may mean Smith sees no time at all), but the general manager should take a little blame for that because they never put a good enough O-line out there, nor did they get the playmakers on the outside. You wonder how Detroit, the Colts, Arizona, and Cinncinati drafts all those wide recievers and Baltimore couldn't come up with one? You're biggest threat is Todd Heap? You can't compete in the league like that.
And it's great to have a top-notch defense, but eventually some of them get old (Ray Lewis) and eventually some of them want to get paid (Terrell Suggs, Adalius Thomas) and they bounce and then ur left with an aging not so motivated defense, Kyle "I dont belong in the NFL" Boller, and Steve "I shoulda retired 2 years ago" McNair.

Yes, Troy Smith will lead the Ravens' practice squad for many years to come.
No one on here seems to know the primary reasons why Smith wasn't a top draft prospect coming out of college. It has less to do with the fact that he's short and that he had a bad game against Florida, and more to do with his INCREDIBLY slow release, mediocre accuracy, mediocre arm strength, and his shady and questionable past. Smith also isn't fast enough to be a true dual threat QB like Vick or Young (Smith's 40 is slower than 4.7).

Heck definite. Heisman winner! he's cellular, has an astounding arm. He desires to get extra snaps than McNair, McNair's old and gets harm further and further usually. they could desire to shop him around to mentor Troy Smith, yet he could desire to be enjoying under Troy. In practice he would be going up against an astounding Ravens D which will provide him a good number of artwork on enjoying on an NFL point. as nicely are you gonna %. Kyle Boller over him?

Troy Smith lacks the ideal size and it depends on if Billick is still head coach next year. Baltimore will either look at signing a free agent QB or drafting one in the first round. Smith has proven people wrong for years, so it would not suprise me to see him starting next year.

I think Troy Smith is a good quarterback and should start after Steve McNair is gone. I'm not saying neither of them are bad. They are both good qbs. It just that McNair has more experience hes in his 13th season

He's sure better than Kyle Boller. The real question is Brian Billick the future coach of the Ravens. I think it maybe time for Brian.

I think he has the talent, I mean he didnt win the heisman for nothing...he lacks the ideal height true but that didnt stop him in college now did it? I know you cant base it all on college performance...look at the team he had around him. but all in all, I think he is a good balanced quarterback. he will need one hell of a offensive line, and ogden cant block everybody
