When my sons were small we would all gather around the Christmas tree and sing carols. Then they would head up to bed and wait for Santa, while we adults were downstairs swearing under our breath while trying to put some complicated toy together!

Our family tradition is for a neighbour or relative to throw pebbles on the roof to alert the youngster's that Santa (of father Christmas) isn't very far away, and it's best to get to bed, and when you wake up[ in the morning, all the presents that Santa has brought will be under the Christmas tree, except for leap year, when he will put all the presents on your bed young and old alike.

We had the same tradition...every year we all got to open one present...it seemed to help make everyone settle down and get to sleep for the next day.
Too funny to see how many others have the same tradition.
In the meantime: Merry Christmas Snuffy!!!...and a Happy New Year too!!!
Best regards!

We take the kids outside, so they can leave food for Santas reindeer. It's just rolled oats mixed with colored sugar and raisins. They sprinkle it around the yard, the birds eat it up the next day.
The youngest one gets to place Santas key on the outside front door knob. Santa uses the key to get in the house.
On Christmas morning, the kids find the key next to the plate of eaten cookies.

Hahaha... So do we!
I was just about to blog about how my kids have each come to me individually this season and asked to open ONE GIFT on Christmas Eve.
They ALWAYS open one gift on Christmas Eve. It's pajamas! They know this!!! But they HATE that its the pajama gift that they always open.
The purpose is so when they awaken and we are taking Christmas pictures...they look decent!

Look through the movies section of the paper and pick one out to see the next day, then recall what our favorite Chinese food dishes are.
