Holy craptola. I laughed and explained it was for "old" married people who loved each other, and she responds "I'm old, and I love you!!" ugh.

I hate to admit this, but she actually saw me and daddy "doing it" when we both thought she was asleep [ it was like 10:30 pm already!} so she told me this when I questioned her about it, "I saw you and daddy!" I said "what did you see" she said "you had all your clothes off and daddy had his u-wear on and " she mimicked us kissing and moaning! OMFG, THEN she said I want to "have sex" with you, and I asked "where did you hear those words?" and she said "DEXTER" ahhhaahhaah. It's all MY FAULT! Dexter is mommy and daddy's favorite show!!!

Does she know what she she caught you and your husband doing was called "having sex"? If she has no clue what it means, she probably just thinks it's something adults do with people they love.

Until she says "Mommy, I want to gag you with your own bra while I whip you with a riding crop," I don't think you need to worry. She probably just thinks she sounds like a grown-up by saying it.

Sounds like you did ok. I would prolly explain it's just for mommies and daddies who love each other and try and leave it at that. You might get an age appropriate book for her and sit down with her and read it with her. Kids are getting smarter and smarter these days and they don't seem to be satisfied with the old explanations. If you can satisfy her curiousty enough, you won't have to get into it again for a few years and she won't be asking her friends who may give her the wrong info on things like that. Good luck!

I'd explain sex is something that men and women (usually) do to create babies when they love each other very much. I love you as my daughter but not the same I love someone I would want to have sex with. Then tell her that she's not old enough to really know and understand what sex is. I have a 7 year old boy and we're very open and honest with him. He doesn't know what 'sex' is persay but he does know where babies come from. Just hug her and kiss her on the cheek and send her off to play...or ask her where she heard about sex.

lol. kids say the funiest thing.
its nothing to freak about its just they dont really understand.
just explain that that is something mommys and daddys do to show love for each other and sometimes make a baby while showing love. just dont go over board with details shes to young to understand it all yet. just every year add on some more information to the whole sex and how babys are made talk. that way there not over whelmed and confused about it all.

hope it helps

It's natural and it happens, but it looks like she heard it somewhere on tv maybe. You could explain the birds and the bees to her to set her straight. You don't have to go too in depth, but she might need more than just the short explanation you gave her. She sounds old enough to start being curious, and you dont want her to get caught playing doctor with a little boy at school lol

That's cute. She is old, heh? She does not understand what is sex. Even her anatomy is not developed to have such thoughts.

But as a mom, you should keep an eye on her. As she grows up you are going to have to be very careful - she could come back to you at the age of 13 and says "mom, I am expecting a child".

Kids that age think that sex is kissing and physical affection. They suspect that there is more to it, so when they bring it up in that manner, they are really using their investigative skills. My kids have brought it up in that way, and I just laugh, and explain to them that sex is for adults, and that they have no idea what it truly is. It's only happened once with all of my children.

I guess that's better than throwing around racial slurs on the sly. No, just kidding. Thats a tough one. Little kids are funny that way. It will be a good thing to embarrass them with when they are an adult! And I'm not fat! Just big boned!

I would be more concerned about where she learned to say such a thing. Then, sit her down and tell her how inappropriate it is to say such things.

You really don't have to explain it to her. There is no way she can understand it. All she has to know is, not to say it again, to you or to anyone else.

Quite possibly, she has no idea what it means.

i think you should ask her , what she knows about sex, if she has heard that somewhere, and that sex is for adults not children. thats not a normal thing for a child of so young to say .
