3 things:
1- Since it has "aspire" involved and she's saying it with "determination," I'm assuming she's doing it out of choice and something she finds joy in. Good for her.
2- I hope she finds someone who won't take advantage of her and has her best interest at heart because she may have shut out her career/financial Independence options, and be left vulnerable.
3- Don't give it any more analysis because it's none of my business.
And yes I answered the two questions entirely differently because one was a man and one was a woman.

I have never heard anyone say that. I was a housewife and mother who worked part time and went to school full time.
I did a lot of my work from the home.
I think I'd be happy for her to be able to care for her own small children. I think that the small kids who are shuttled off to day care in private homes or those commercial care facilities, really miss out on being with their parents. If the Mom can't be home, perhaps the Dad could be. Once kids are in school full time, I'm thinking this lady better have something to occupy her day.
Martha Stewart built an empire out of housewifery. For her, it was "a good thing."
C. :)!!

At one time in my life, I would have thought that the woman lacks true aspiration in her own life. My views and feelings, however, have changed.
Firstly, I now respect each person's right to choose their own path, and refrain from judging their choices. I can also respect the importance of having this kind of life - as it can make the lives of others much easier and happier.
All in all - an admirable and selfless aspiration...

I support that choice if it is theirs alone and not because they are being pressured by someone else. However, what are they going to do when their children are older and at school all day and also, what are they going to do when their children become adults and move away? How about if their husbands become disabled or ill and are unable to work? The women are not going to be able to support a family if they have no real job skills.

If that is what the woman wants--then she should go for it! It is 2007 after all, a woman can do whatever she wants, whether it be in the domestic or public realm.

i'd say that's great. it works for some people, and not for others.
but for someone to make that statement in today's society is commendable. with all the judgement and ridicule you could be subjecting yourself to, you deserve a gold star for bravery!

Honestly, I think to myself, "oh geeze what next? is she gonna quote me some scripture?"
But then I'm human and we all have our predjudices, luckily I can recognize when I do that and tend to give her the benefit of the doubt and just think to my self, "eh, it's her choice" and then go on with my life. If we have anything in common I might be her friend but if we don't then possibly I'd just be an acquaintance to her or just a completely forget about her if she was some chick off the street I met that day and never saw again.

Personally I would not think very highly of such a woman. While its great to want to become a wife and mother, I don't think these should be the only goals in a female's life. One must have goals, hopes, dreams, and interests. I don't believe that solely being a wife and mother will completely fulfill a woman.

My first thought is a woman who wants to get married, have kids and run the household while her husband goes to work and earns the money.
