Mitochondrial DNA has delivered the proof that we all come from one man who lived 70 000 years ago.

Here are two pages for you to read.
One describes the most recent female common ancestor, described through mtDNA. The other the most recent male common ancestor, described through the Y-chromosome mutation inheritance.

You mean one WOMAN if we are speaking of mitichondrial DNA, though it's safe to assume there was a man in the equation.

What that means is this. Assume four couples each have children. Statistically speaking, if enough time passes, all of the lines that originated from three of the couples will have died out and the line that originated from one of them will be left.

So what it is saying is we can all be traced back to one couple.

This is greatly simplified though.

Mitochondrial DNA is passed ONLY through women. I'd check your sources if I were you

Mitochondrial DNA shows that we all came from one *woman*. It's only passed from mother to offspring, not from father to offspring. This indicates that we are all related, however distantly.

we are all inbred, the worlds family tree does go in a straight line, the south was onto something this whole time, who would have known
