If you want a Wii by January, go to a local Gamestop and get a check, which promises you a Wii sometime in January. All the stores don't know when their getting their shipments, apparently they come in randomly. However, Gamestop might not do the checks anymore, so i suggest going on craiglist, and buying one from a local person. You can get it for $300-$400 there. I haven't done a check, but i know people who have.

G'luck!

it is imposible to know where a shipment is going because nintendo randomly sends out wiis to spread them out equally. since it is 100% random where they end up being sold, it is imposible to know if a particular gamestop or whatever is going to get one as apposed to target, you see what i'm saying. here are some good tips me and my family learned in the search for a wii.

1. go to a place like meijer because people don't think to check places like meijer as apposed to gamestop when the fact is they get as many as gamestop or eb games. you have to find out when the delivery truck comes (probably like 6 in the morning, just ask all the people working there and someone will know) and get there earlier so you are the first one in line waiting for it. obviously, meijer may not have a wii for a while but eventually, if you NEVER skip a day in line, meijer will get 3 systems+all the crap that comes with it and you will be the first in line waiting so you are going to get one! the reason you can't just walk in and buy one is because they don't even hit the shelf's they go so fast.

2. go to a place like meijer and slip the guy that puts the wiis on the shelf's 20 or 40 bucks so he will save one for you and if you don't get one before christmas, than too bad because it is really late to look for one.

Well, I'd suggest going to http://www.itrackr.com/ and signing up for tracking the Wii. I think it costs one dollar a month, but it's well worth it. They notify you when a Wii is available at one of the retail stores near you. You can also have them send you text alerts, so if you're driving around, you can know which store to go to.
