As a referee, I would recommend you get a jersey whose colors are completely different than your teammates.

Especially in early morning or late afternoon matches, shades of difference can be hard to distinguish when the action is around your area. You don't want to purchase a new uniform only to have to change frequently to something else.

I would add that keepers need to look at the back of the jersey before they make their purchase. Sometimes they have a solid color on the back which is the same color as your teammates. If so, the officials can't tell who the keeper is when your back is to them, and they may make you change.

I guess. Don't the rules say you have to wear colours that distinguish you from teammates, opponents, and referees?
If you don't look like them, you'd be fine. Uniform wise, that is.
