Some friends have been urging me to buy as many guns as I can just in case Hillary or Obama get elected. It's been said that they will ban guns once in office.

Haha
Forgive me for laughing at your friends' self-confessed weakness.
Maybe you should remind your friends, that whatever they do, should they get into office, will only create more power for the Republican that follows them.

I think if you are willing to learn proper use and handling of a gun and you have the desire to purchase one, you should get it. Guns are Not toys, and should not be purchased just because someone tells you to get one, but because you wish it. As for Hillary or Obama, I don't believe that even if they Were to get elected that they could place a total gun ban on the US. There are too many gun owners and supporters for it to be passed into law. As for a good reason to Have your own gun, look at all the countries that allowed guns to be removed from its citizens. Every country had a rise in all crimes, and not just crimes with guns.

So now we own a lot of guns. Elections happen. Ms. Hil and or BO outlaw guns.

Now you are an outlaw! What to do? Give up your guns, lose your money and be PO'd that the Government did you.

I know how to use some weapons. I don't have any of serious killing worth and I'm not sure I'd use one to do another in anyway. Not in my spirit.

But that could change if Ms. Hil or BO get elected!

Think what a remarkable experience it will be, watching others shooting it out around you and the USA collapses in a Democratically induced, shooting, killing raging frenzy.
I bet it would make the Iraqies proud.

actually, yes

and it would be a very good idea to buy an enclosure type trigger lock to go on it if there are any children in the house.

skip that stuff about intruders. if there is an intruder -- shoot the biggest window out and then hit the floor.

if the noise alone doesn't scare the intruders off, the thought that you do have a gun and will use it should do the trick.

baseball bat -- isn't that what that football player dude in Miami had?? he scared the intruder so much that he got himself killed by a fool who likely couldn't shoot straight if he had tried.

That is up to you! You should know how it works, clean it,and be able to hit inside an 8 inch circle @ 25 yards. I am assuming your gun is a handgun.Everyone should own a handgun, rifle, and a shotgun.(IMO) If Hillary should be elected, and in light of her dark past, then yes!(and off the'books').

The 2nd Amendment will never be abolished, and there are advocates of the NRA and other organizations that have vowed to keep it in tact. Hillary will try, but Obama will not. Obama knows how important our rights are this is what he taught in his days of a Professor at Harvard. He is nothing like Hillary. I can not believe you are saying this.

I think your friends are paranoid. None of the presidential candidates from either party wants to confiscate people's guns, and a president doesn't have the power to ban guns unilaterally, it would take and act of congress and most likely it would take a constitutional amendment that would have to go through a lengthy ratification process, and my guess is that a proposed consitutional amendment to ban guns would have 0% chance of success.

NRA!!!!! Yes, you have every right to own as many guns as you like. I have an entire gun safe full. From handguns to shotguns.
So, many people look away from our Constitution. That is so sad. Our Constitution gives us the right of freedom and our Government is taking that away a piece at a time.

It's not a good idea to buy a gun unless you actually want one. And the President can't ban guns. He can only ask congress to do so, which isn't going to happen.
