After 8 years of unprecedented economic growth under Clinton, Bush caused a mild recession (started in March of 2001) by bad mouthing the economy during the campaign. Yet he inherited what was basically a solid economic situation. Yet he had zero job growth during his first 4 years. And although unemployment is currently pretty low, around 4.5% he has never achieved the 3.9% achieved under Clinton.

You should do some research. It was teh democratic house and senate who destroyed the economy during bush's term. It took them 2 years. Bush was actually strengthening the economy after clinton ruined it before the democrats gained control and decided to fu ckk it up. We give obama such a hard time because he's done nothing. He spent 5 trillion dollars (twice as much as bush and more than any president in history) and signed over 900 executive orders (bush only signed 63 and he signed the most out of any president before him) and yet with all that money spent and all those executive orders unemployment is double what it was when he started (8% in 2008 and 20% in 2012). The dollar is down, the credit rating has dropped twice for the first time in history, more people lose jobs each month than get them, businesses have closed in unpresedented numbers, What has obama done? Seriously if you give me 5 trillion dollars and the power to do whatever i want ignoring congress, threatening the supreme court and suing states I'd give everyone a job. Hell 5 trillion dollars would employ 10 million people for 2 years at minimum wage. I ask again where did the money go? Not to jobs. Not to help the country. Some of it went to companies to bail them out and tehy went bankrupt anyway. Did they give the money back? No. They kept it donated some to obamas campaign and retired on taxpayer money laughing all the way to the bank. And thats why we hate obama. The question is why do you love him? Whats he done? I bet you can't answer because you don't know and haven't done any research.

You need to get your facts straight. The lowest unemployment rate during the Clinton years was 4.8 which was good. And if talking the economy down causes a recession then during the Bush reelection campaign when all the democrats were saying we had the worst economy since the depression we should still be stuck in a recession. And the only way that Clinton got his job numbers up was his administration decided that not all new jobs were being reported so they added a little over 43,000 a month a month to reflect that which no other administration never did. The Clinton recession was caused by him raising taxes so high. Just like when Jimmy Carter threw this country into recession when he rolled back the JFK tax cuts. And remember your party promises to roll back Bush's tax cuts. That will make three dem presidents...............3 recessions.

LOL talk about some desperate reaching on here.
Bush Sr. is the one responsible for 8 years of growth under the Clinton Administration?????????????????

As I very accurately remember it, George Bush Sr. did absolutely nothing his last 6 months in office except go on vacation. In fact, he was the record holder for the least amount of time actually spent working.......well that is until his son took office and now holds the newest record of least amount of time actually spent working.

If you check the REAL economic numbers which Bush and his cronies have done there best to hide form Americans, our economy is no where even close to being safe at this point. In fact if you do some real fact finding you'll find that essentially between the mortgage bust that his administration helped to create and the debt from this war that no American will ever benefit from in any way, we're literally owned by China who is now holding over $400 billion dollars of our nations debt.
That is despite the multi-billion dollar surplus Bush started with which was a DIRECT result of Clinton's economic policies, not George Bush Sr's.

As a business owner, I can tell you that by the end of Bush Sr's administration the market began to go through the roof as it always does whenever a Republican president is ousted by the people.

And in 2008 it won't be as rosey because of course the GOP supporters on here will be blaming the new Democratic president for everything which was actually created and happened on W's watch.
It's pretty bad when you can't even admit the truth to yourselves. Pathetic in fact.

Corporate fraud brought on the mild depression and 911 sent us into a catastrophic downward spiral unparalleled in modern history. Bush's tax cuts staved off the economic ruin of this country. Unemployment has never been an issue under the Bush administration.
Hows life with your HD flat screen? Only Rush had one back in the Clinton admin.

Due to the attempted hijack by Al Gore, President Bush wasn't fully in the office by March of 2001, Clinton was forced to have a pretty good economy for the six years that congress was controlled by the Republicans. But as you say we did have a mild recession in 2001, and under President Bush we recovered from that, and 911 and our economy is going gang-busters, lower avg unemployment for the last four years than any four years of Clinton.

Another one of The Republican Principles of Politics is to constantly use the glass is half full wisdom to point out the wonders of their philosophy and decisions. I mean look at the great progress in Iraq right now, down to only forty GI's dead a month. Gee, how good is this progress?
About one more year of progress like Bush manufactures and we will be broke as a Nation. Our Spirit is already wounded from the Vietnam War and now we ad the Iraq War to our great accomplishments.

There's no profit in jobs for Americans. Companies have made major profits by being able to off-shore, by creating poorly-paid 'secondary' jobs in the US, and by the tax cuts Bush has handed them.

Bush would have supported an expansion of illegal immigration though, since this is very cheap (and often very hard working ) labor. Just as long as they don't get unionized or uppity, there's a place for them in Bush's America.

Yet Bush has never achieved the recession that Clinton caused. Have anything to say to that?

cause the economy sucks, cause the government goes after companies and wants there money. the government taxing there people is the main reason, if we dont have money we cant spend, thus the companies wont have bigger profits to grow. companies that dont grow dont have jobs to give out. people who want to start new companies thus creating them cant cause our government makes it to hard. its a horrible cycle that at some point will blow up in our face, all cause the government illegally takes our money.
dont forget the english came over here and settled to get away from taxation, yet they tax us. we pay there airfair, lunches, hotel rooms so they can sleep with whores, parties. we work so they can do nothing.
