I put my right ring finger on the pad part and my pointer finger on the button. Sometimes I put my right ring finger on the pad part and my left pointer on the button.
lol I know its a lame question, but I'm bored.

I use my right hand, put my middle finger on the pad, and my pointer finger on the button.

I use my right pointer finger on the touchpad and use either my right thumb or my left pointer finger to click.

A touchpad would not use instant alerts, so it can not interfere with different contraptions and different instant contraptions can not interfere with a touchpad. consequently if the touchpad on one in each and every of your laptops isn't working, it won't have any effect on the different pc. plenty extra probably the touchpad is broken, you have loaded the incorrect drivers, you're contaminated with a fatal disease or you have put in utility which messes up your touchpad.

I use only my right pointer finger.
My touchpad has a part on the right side for scrolling the page up and down.
And I just tap on the touchpad to click on something.
I rarely ever use the button, unless I'm right clicking on something or highlighting something.

I use my right hand ring finger (if that makes sense LOL) and my middle finger at the same time on the pad.
I use my pointer finger to click.
