It seems today you can read a magazine or turn on the TV without hearing that some celebrity is pregnant, went to rehab (again), or got arrested. Even the news is riddled with tabloid-worthy stories. Are there any people who my friends and I, as well as other young people can look up to?

yeah,. People in your family, people you know... they don't have to be in the light of the media. Plus the media likes to blow up a story more than it should so that it can make money because that's the way this capitalistic country works... unfortunately. For me, I look up to people i respect and believe have great integrity. My mom, my dad, some teachers etc

i don't really think that it's that there aren't good role models in society. it's just that those people who actually do good are underemphasized in the media, and those who decide to do crap with their lives are under the paparazzi 24/7. i don't know why news is like that...shock value, maybe? in any case, i think our world would be a lot less negative if the media put more stress on the positive things people are doing.

Jesus Christ. Give ur heart to him, honor his word, and watch the blessings flow into your life. He is love. He is the escape route of this hellhole. There isn't a man or women on the face of the earth that at sometime won't let u down. For those who say they know him and don't obey him, he is going to vomit them out of his mouth, as Rev 3:16 says. It's time to take a stand for righteousness and honor him, and I believe that will come from the youth who are sick of the nonsense going on today. Parents should be ashamed of sacrificing their lives to their jobs, and leaving the youth to seek attention, either positive or negative. You can't take your wealth with u, nor do many enjoy their jobs, so why miss the roses in life. A life with Christ will cost u and u will have to fight others for it, but in the end it will be worth it all. Christ did not die without a purpose!!! If he laid down his life for me, then certainly I can lay down my life for him. The problem we have today is the financial blessing, it has become a curse as the reliance on the Lord has disapated, and people are only concerned with themselves and what they can get. Not many fear God these days and the u know what is hitting the fan and eventually the fan won't turn anymore. That's why u see the manifestations of sin in the news. The end is near and His return is imminent. If u want to help those in re-habs pray for them everyday and watch God pour out his power on their lives. He is the only one who can change a life, I know as he pulled me out of the miry clay, and I couldn't be more thankful. I have been leading an honourable life and the blessings have chased me as the bible says. Just recently I got a free 2001 Acura given to me with only 60,000km or 40,000 miles on it. And that my friend is a drop in the bucket from everything I have received from Him. The blessings are conditional in leading a moral life, being concerned for others, forgiving those that wrong you, and most of all loving Him. If u love him with all ur heart your have the keys to an abundant joyful life. It's all about the relationship u have with with Him. If u don't have love on this earth, you don't have anything. I would encourage anyone to let him in to your heart, and ask him to forgive you of your sins. The bible says in Roman's 8:15 All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

I can only think of fictional characters from foreign shows that could be considered role models... I don't know about actual people... there's the Doctor from Doctor Who... it's a british sci-fi show. o.O"
